Young peoples competition

Nottinghamshire Archives wants to hear from young people aged between 7 and 16 about what life is like for them today. This competition will find the best diary writers, filmmakers, bloggers or podcasters in the county and city. Fantastic cash prizes of up to £300 for individual prize-winning entries and £750 for the prize-winning school, group or club must be won.

Entries should be for a single day starting from 8th February until 31st March 2010. Competitors can describe a special event, activity or just a normal day in their community. They can use the diary to talk about feelings, thoughts and opinions and what is important to them and their family.  Entries can include drawings, photographs or the equivalent for podcasts and videos. The diary can be serious or humorous but all entries must be true and not made-up.

Prizes are funded by Nottinghamshire Local History Association.

There are three categories for individual entries: Age 7-10; Age 11-13; Age 14-16 and a fourth category for group, club or school entries. Selected entries will be added to the collections of Nottinghamshire Archives and will offer future historians a fascinating insight into the lives of young people.
