This scholarship enables young people to visit the USA for between 4 weeks and 3 months to investigate a work-related topic of their choice and have the opportunity to experience the American way of life.
The scholarship is open to anyone aged between 21 and 30 living or working in Nottinghamshire. No formal qualifications are necessary. This unique career and personal development opportunity provides the successful scholar with up to £3000, plus a return flight to the USA with which to make their visit of between four weeks and three months.
This is an annual award, they are now taking applications for 2010 and the close date is Friday 5 March 2010 March.

The two 2009 scholars Kim Melvill-Smith and Holly Turner have both recently returned to the UK following their scholarship travels.
Kim, a teacher at a Nottingham school researched the ways that American schools work to encourage participation of pupils, parents and the wider community in the education system.
Holly, who works for the East Midlands Development Agency learnt how urban regeneration in the USA addresses social inclusion with regards to race and ethnicity.
