Work undertaken that focuses on the ECM agenda outcomes:

  • 10 To Make a Difference Project – teaching young people across a range of disabilities to become peer trainers for their organisations, training around three key areas of problem solving, personal safety, and financial safety.
  • Peer mediation programmes teaching effective communication, problem solving skills, and emotional intelligence
  • Working with schools, directly and using Youth Issues Officers, to look at restorative approaches which centres around effective communication, problem solving and engagement.
  • Youth strategy, being updated, which drives how Nottinghamshire Police work with young people. This will involve engagement with young people and is focussed on improving outcomes for young people
  • Youth offending service working in the areas of diversion and prevention. With officers trained to run Final Warning clinics.
  • Involvement with various projects – Princes Trust, Kickz, Piece by Piece, Positive Activities for Young People, Youth in Parliament.
