Arriving at Sherwood Forest and Kit Check
As the teams of young people arrive at Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre their kit bags are checked to ensure they have all the right equipment (torches, compasses, maps etc) to complete the challenge ahead.
The Incidents and the Teams
There are a variety of 'incidents' that the teams have to complete in each sector in order to collect points.
Sector Control and Radio Control Staff
The whole event is managed at sector control. Those running the event can communicate with each other via radio control.
The Feeding Station
Teams can stop off at the feeding station for a well deserved break and have a choice of refreshments including tea, coffee, cold drinks, soup and hot dogs.
WRVS and the Red Cross Volunteers
Shadow couldn't take place without its "army of volunteers" who help to run the event year after year.
Councillors and VIPs Touring Sector Control
Nottinghamshire County Councillors and other VIPs are invited each year to this exciting event to see how it is ran.
