The centre is licensed by AALA and complies fully with the Off Site Visits Policy for Nottinghamshire County Council, ensuring that any preparatory work for leaders is kept to a minimum. A recent report compiled after a visit by the Young Inspectors stated:

  • "visits are subsidised to keep prices low to enable more young people to access."
  • "the buildings, décor and furniture we all agreed were young person friendly.  Young people looked like they were having a good time “buzzing out of their brains”  One young boy we spoke to had to get up early to get the breakfast ready and we all agreed that it is a good thing giving young people responsibility for their own care eg: food and boot cleaning.  Hagg Farm is an education centre so it teaches you to look after yourself and take responsibility.’
  • "there are hoists and ramps so disabled young people can come with their non-disabled friends."

A course at Hagg Farm meets the requirements for an application for a Youth Initiative Grant – details, application forms and a schedule for applications for April 2010 – March 2011 are available on YouthZone at the   Youth Initiative Grant webpages.
