Everton Village Youth Theatre
The Village Players (Everton) is an amateur theatre company, formed in 1979, based in the North Nottinghamshire Village of Everton. The Youth Theatre provides young people of all ages with the opportunity to take part in weekly drama/workshop sessions, held in the Village Hall on most Sunday mornings between 10am and midday.
The Youth Theatre have been involved in a number of performances, including Little Red Riding Hood, and Mother Goose - both pantomimes.
A recent youth theatre performance was that of 'Scafti's Saga'. Written by Mollie Hall, it tells the story of the early occupation of this area by the Vikings in the 10th Century. Scafti was a Viking who sails across the North Sea, up the Humber, the Trent, the Idle, until, tired of all this sailing he saw the wooded hills to the east of what is now Bawtry and decided to settle, forming the hamlet of Scaftworth.
