Tips for a successful application
We cannot guarantee that your application will be accepted but here are some tips to help you along the way and give your application the best chance...
- Young people should be involved at every stage of the application process.
- The project must meet one of the five Every Child Matters outcomes and one or more of the local priorities that are explained in the application pack.
- The project should promote active involvement in your neighbourhood / community.
- You can send in CDs, DVDs, film and photographs to support your application.
- Funds should have the maximum impact on the maximum number of young people possible. However, if your project deals with small numbers of people it will not be excluded and you must explain why your project will work with small numbers.
- Think of what you want to achieve and how it will make a difference to people's lives.
- Think about what your project will cost and give realistic estimates for all expenditure.
- If you have applied for funding elsewhere or tried to raise your own funds this will be viewed favourably.
- Think about how you will evaluate how successful your project has been.
We also advise that you fully read the guidance notes (which can be found in the application pack) before completing your application form. These will make completing the form much easier and ensure that you complete each section correctly.
Good luck with your application!
