Mobile Rural Contact Point

The Mobile Rural Contact Point is a partnership project between Nottinghamshire County Council, Bassetlaw District Council, Newark and Sherwood District Council and Nottinghamshire Police. The service provides rural communities in the two districts with access to advice and information on Council and Police services including:

  • Social Care and Health
  • Welfare Rights
  • Blue Badge Scheme
  • Schools/Free School Meals
  • Traffic and Travel Information
  • Employment Opportunities
  • Housing
  • CouncilTax/Housing Benefits
  • Environment Services
  • Crime Prevention Advice
  • Driving Enquiries
  • Reporting Crimes/Incidents
  • Lost & Found Property
  • Road Traffic enquires
  • General enquiries

Photograph of a Mobile Rural County Contact Point vanWe cover approximately 80 villages mostly on a 4 weekly rota. A Police officer and a County Contact advice officer from Nottinghamshire County Council are available to answer your enquiries on Police and council services (both County and District Councils). We also hold occasional surgeries with the Pensions Service and the Community Development officer.

You're welcome to "come on board and have a chat", discuss any issues of concern or obtain forms or leaflets.A private interview room is available for confidentiality and the vehicle also has an access lift for wheelchair users

Posters giving details of our visits are sent to your local Clerk to the Parish Council and the local Post Office or village shop.  We look forward to seeing you when we visit your area.
