A study investigated the potential impact of Regional Government on Nottinghamshire. Issues considered included the work of the key East Midlands regional agencies and their current links with the county council. The study also noted developments around regional government elsewhere in the country.

A study looking at the impact of MRSA in Nottinghamshire’s hospitals involved working with the Joint Health Scrutiny Committee and the Patient Forums of Acute Trusts.

A study group considered the following areas in relation to traffic calming:

  • the roles and responsibilities of the County Council and its partners, such as, the Safety Camera Partnership
  • evidence regarding their effectiveness
  • perspectives on traffic calming and safety camera issues from outside the county (and abroad)
  • the benefits of ‘repeater signs’ to remind motorists of the speed limit.

A study to consider teenage pregnancies - developing the Countywide Teenage Pregnancy Strategy - looked at co-ordinated approaches to reducing teenage conception and pregnancy.

This study considered the effect the new Robin Hood Airport near Doncaster might have on tourism, transport and infrastructure in Nottinghamshire as well the local economy and regeneration and the effects on East Midlands Airport.
