Key Strategies and Plans
The County Council's work is shaped by three key strategies. These are:
Each strategy plays a different role in how we work.
The Community Strategy
This is our plan for improving Nottinghamshire as a place to live and work in over the next five years. The strategy is agreed by all the public sector partners in Nottinghamshire, the Nottinghamshire Partnership, which includes county, district and borough councils, the Police, the health service, the fire service and so on.
Our community strategy for 2005 - 2009 is called All Together Better. It includes an additional section called 'Together We Will' which outlines how we will deliver each priority listed in the strategy.

The County Council's strategic plan sets out how we plan to play our part in delivering the community strategy.

The Constitution
The constitution sets out how the Council operates, how decisions are made and the procedures which are followed to ensure that these are efficient, open and honest and accountable to local people. Some of these processes are required by the law, while others are a matter for the Council to choose.
