How much is my Council Tax?
We cannot say exactly how much your total Council Tax bill is. This is because we do not decide the total amount.
Your council tax bill is made up of payments to:
- Nottinghamshire County Council
- Nottinghamshire Police Authority ( www.nottinghamshire.police.uk)
- Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service ( www.notts-fire.gov.uk)
- your District Council
- your Parish or Town Council (if you have one)
The County Council's part of the Council Tax for 2007/08 is:

Payments to the other agencies need to be added to these figures to give the total amount.
We, the police and the fire service charge the same amount across the whole county. But each District Council and Parish Council sets its own amount, and so the total bill will be different in each area.

Your District Council is also responsible for collecting Council Tax and applying the rules about discounts, benefits, and exemptions.
