We take equality and diversity seriously. We want to provide a high quality, appropriate service to everyone in Nottinghamshire.

Our equality policies and statements Equality in Service Delivery and Equal Opportunities in Employment Statement and Policy, are living documents backed up by a network of staff from all departments who ensure that the equality models are applied to Council employees and public services.

We have published our annual Corporate equality action plan [WORD 644KB] and encourage feedback on any aspect of equality planning.
Equality standard
Since 2000, we have also been working to the national Improvement & Development Agency (I&DeA) Equality Standard to eliminate all discrimination, including gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion and belief and social exclusion.
We have reached level 3 of the standard and are working towards level 4.
