What is it?

"Partnership action to make your community a safer place to live, work and visit."

We are putting community safety at the heart of everything we do.

Community safety includes:
  • Safer public areas
  • Well designed buildings
  • Safety at home
  • Facilities for young people
  • Safer transport.

Plus other issues more directly related to crime including:

What are we doing?
  • Key member of the district based Community Safety Partnerships, which tackle the key crime and disorder priorities in your areas
  • Design and build safer public areas and buildings, reducing the opportunities for crime
  • Reduce youth disaffection, reconnecting young people to their communities
  • Work to reduce the number of victims of domestic and racial violence, supporting those who work with the victims of crime
  • Train our staff and partners to be aware of community safety, so that they know their responsibilities and what to do if you have a problem
  • Inform the public of what is available, so you can play your part in community safety.
