Tram

Driver training underway on NET

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is the modern tram system developed to help ease congestion, enhance the environment and improve access around Nottingham.

The trams run from Nottingham railway station, through the city centre to Hucknall or Phoenix Park.  They start at 6am, running through to midnight and at peak times in the city centre they run every 5 minutes.

There are plans for two more tram routes - one to Clifton via Wilford and one to Chilwell via Beeston and QMC.

For information about the tram line, including times and fares, go to www.thetram.net.

For background information about the tram system go to  www.nottinghamexpresstransit.com.

As part of the Transport and Works Act procedures associated with NET Phase Two, land currently used as open space will need to be acquired. It is proposed to make alternative land available for public use by way of exchange. The promoting authorities (Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council) have been directed by the Secretary of State to give public notice of the Secretary of State’s intention to issue a Certificate under Section 19(1)(a) of the Acquisition of Land Act 1981.
The notice was published in the Nottingham Evening Post on Friday 25th January and again the following week. The notice is also available for viewing in those locations listed on the notice.
