The Burton Road 'bus plug' was opened up to all traffic (under 7.5 tonnes) on 10 January 2011 as part of an experimental Traffic Regulation Order.
A report was taken to the Cabinet Member for Transport and Highways in August 2011 which contained a review of the consultation responses received and the before and after traffic monitoring. The decision was subsequently taken to make the order permanent and this came into effect in September 2011.
