Registered Care Manager at Woodland View

Woodland View is large detached house in spacious grounds in Pleasley, on the Mansfield/Derbyshire border. We accommodate four young people with varying emotional, behavioural and care needs, and have consultation support provided by CAMHS to develop specific individual plans. This includes planning for semi-independence, and for some young people, re-integration back home or moving onto foster placements.
Registered Care Manager at Springteen
This post is being advertised on a temporary basis for two years and may become permanent in the future.
Springteen is a three bedded semi-independent home for three young adults aged from 15 to 18 yers. We focus on preparing our young people for independent living in the community. Teaching them skills in budgeting, food preparation and purchasing, social skills and personal care.
For both posts successful candidates will be required to possess a professional qualification (DipSW, CSS, CQSW, NVQ level 4 Care), the NVQ level 4 (Management) award (unless they already have a recognised management qualification), or can provide evidence to the Panel that they are able to complete both awards by January 2005. In addition to completion of the D32/33 (A1) Assessors award within the first 12 months.
Registered Managers will be expected to work within the scope of the Care Standards Act 2000, www.legislation.hmso.gov.uk, and ensure their units exceed the standards laid down by the Commission For Social Care Inspection. Motivating and guiding their teams towards excellence in residential social care by providing effective and dynamic leadership.
We are looking for people who:
- have a minimum of two years management experience in a social care setting of which one year must be in a residential setting
- are able to manage their own stress and that of others
- are effective communicators, with an ability to establish effective relationships with neighbours of the home, the wider community and other key stakeholders such as partner agencies.
You will have knowledge and an understanding of management of petty cash systems and devolved budgets, and be committed to the ethos of both group living and the delivery of equal opportunities.
