Course outline:
This course is for anyone managing the supervision, performance and appraisal of employees. It aims to give delegates an overview of the process, good practice techniques and an opportunity to practice skills for effective appraisal meetings.
To achieve the aim, the course will cover:
- The purpose of employee supervision, appraisal and development
- Values and principles underlying appraisals and supervisions
- Setting and agreeing performance criteria and SMART objectives
- Monitoring and recording performance
- Giving constructive feedback on performance to maintain standards
- How to identify training and development needs.
The course is essentially a participative workshop. It is designed to give delegates an opportunity to learn in a relaxed, supportive and enjoyable way.
To support the achievement of the above, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills, using a number of individual, paired and small group exercises, including case studies and role play.
