We support social care and health staff to provide quality end of life care.

Although every individual may have a different idea about what would, for them, constitute a ‘good death’, for many this would involve:

  1. Being treated as an individual, with dignity and respect
  2. Being without pain and other symptoms
  3. Being in familiar surroundings and
  4. Being in the company of close family and/or friends.

End of Life Care conference - 5 October 2011

Theme

The many ways in which health and social care work together to deliver better end of life care

Overview

Delegates found out about how the End of Life Care Strategy is being implemented nationally and locally.

In Nottinghamshire, there is a comprehensive training programme delivered to health and social care staff which is complemented by the “Time for Tea, Time to Talk” awareness raising events.

There were plentiful networking opportunities and a range of stands providing information, tools and examples of good practice.

The files below give outlines of the presentations given at the conference. If you want further information about any of the themes contact the workforce planning team.
