How are the meals delivered?
This depends on what your needs are.
Frozen
These are for any elderly person and also for adults who have
- a physical disability
- a visual impairment or poor eyesight
- a learning disability
- mental health problems
- a deteriorating or life-threatening condition or are nutritionally at risk.
The meals are delivered together weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You can then choose which meal you want to eat on which day, at a time to suit you.
Chilled
These are for people who can reheat a meal themselves and would like to remain as independent as possible but they might:
- have difficulty storing and reheating frozen meals
- have needs that vary because of a health condition
- need a daily check to make sure that meals are being heated properly and eaten.
These meals are delivered every morning, so you can heat and eat them at a time to suit you.
Hot
These are only available to people who:
- cannot safely prepare a main meal for themselves (including a frozen or chilled delivery)
- are not mobile enough to leave their home to get a meal
- have no-one able or willing to prepare a meal for them.
