Early years and childcare services
Early Years and Childcare Services works with a number of partners to:
- secure early years education places, with Nursery Education Funding, through maintained schools and private, voluntary and independent (PVI) providers
- secure childcare for working parents
- develop Sure Start services through the development of Children’s Centres
- provide a Families Information Service through which parents and carers can access information about childcare, help with childcare costs, activities for children and young people, and familiy support services
- provide a recruitment service called Nottinghamshire Childcare Recruitment Campaign for staff working in private, voluntary and independent childcare settings
- provide business and marketing advice, guidance and support for all new and existing childcare providers to help them be viable businesses and to stimulate demand and take up of childcare places
- promote the development of the children’s workforce through a programme of continuous professional development (TADO) and supporting appropriate qualifications for practitioners
- ensure that all our services are accessible to all sections of the population, with particular reference to the needs of children and parents from disadvantaged communities and demographic groups, such as lone parents and minority ethnic groups, and also to children with disabilities and their families
