The Early Years and Childcare Services work with a number of partners to: |
| Secure early years education places, with nursery education funding for children aged three and four, through maintained schools and private, voluntary and independent (PVI) providers |
| Secure childcare for working parents |
| Develop Sure Start Children Centre Services throughout the county |
| Provide a Families Information Service through which parents and carers can access information about childcare, help with childcare costs, activities for children and young people, and familiy support services |
| Develop the children’s workforce through a programme of continuous professional development (TADO) and supporting appropriate qualifications for practitioners |
| Provide, support, develop and sustain a diverse range of quality play opportunities through the Play Service to meet the needs of children and young people in Nottinghamshire and protect their right to play (core age range 5-14) |
| Provide business support for all new and existing childcare providers to help them be viable businesses and to stimulate demand and take up of childcare places |
| Ensure that all our services are accessible to all sections of the population, with particular reference to the needs of children and parents from disadvantaged communities and demographic groups, such as lone parents and minority ethnic groups, and also to children with disabilities and their families. |
