| Any other comments | I became a Headteacher within the school I had previously held the Deputy Headteacher's post and have now been a Head for 13 years. I have been through a large scale re-organisation of schools in Mansfield and all this entailed in terms of legalities and 'fatalities'!! I have also been through several Ofsted inspections including being in Special Measures and been subjected to a number of intense monitoring inspections to emerge out after 3 years as a successful school again – so I fully understand through very painful experience now what it takes to turn a failing school around including the quick wins. I have 3 aging buildings to manage and maintain and have had numerous emergencies in relation to these over the years which have given me valuable experience. I have also been keen to enhance Education beyond the classroom by building up Learning Community Education initiatives for our local community to access through external funding bids which we seem to ceaselessly complete! Over the past year I have also become involved in supporting some other schools in aspects of their provision and I see partnerships between schools as a huge asset whether done in an informal or formal capacity. I have four children of my own ranging between 8-22 and I confess the 'work-life' balance is an area I am still working on!!!! |
