Nottinghamshire County Council Children’s Social Care Transformation Programme was launched in May 2011. The aim of the programme is to develop and implement a future operating model for Children’s Social Care that improves outcomes for children and young people, is sustainable and cost effective,
Transformation will be driven from within by people currently working within our service and by our partners. We will be supported by iMPOWER, a consultancy firm whose role is to assist, challenge and guide us through our transformation work using their knowledge and experience in effecting change in the Children’s Social Care sector.
Our Vision for Children’s Social Care is:
“To provide the most vulnerable children and young people in Nottinghamshire with the support and protection that they need to be safe, secure and happy and to achieve their full potential”.
Success for this programme will mean:
- An embedded new model of children’s social care, based on our vision
- A high-quality service all are confident in and proud of – including members of our community, politicians, staff and others in the council and our partners
- A service which makes best use of resources and is financially sustainable.
The success of this programme in achieving better outcomes for children and families will be based on Nottinghamshire County Council working effectively with its partners. This will be realised through a clear communication and consultation strategy including the opportunity to involve partners in focus and working groups as well as when required, direct involvement in the development of the future operating model.
The communications programme includes regular presentations to a wide range of partners and future regular reporting to the Children’s Trust Executive. The next update to the Children's Trust Executive meeting will be on 24 August 2011.
