Quality Assurance
This group makes sure that partner agencies have completed any action plans following serious case reviews. It also provides scrutiny in monitoring the work of the NSCB task and finish groups. A further important role is that it reviews and takes action on performance information and single and / or joint audit findings where they affect safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Standing Serious Case Review Panel
The panel considers whether a serious case review, or a smaller scale review of individual cases, should happen following the death or serious injury of a child. In the case of child deaths, this is where abuse or neglect is know or suspected to be a factor.
The minutes of this meeting are confidential and cannot be shared.
Training
This sub group promotes inter-agency safeguarding training and identifies need and appropriate provision. It looks at the link between single agency and inter-agency training and ensures that they compliment each other and are fit for purpose. It also provides support and advises partner agencies in staff development in relation to safeguarding children.
