What happens when an Assessment under the Education Act 1996 is made?
You or your child’s school will have brought your child’s special educational needs to the attention of the Local Authority (LA). In Nottinghamshire there is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Officer who, on behalf of the LA, makes sure that all requests for Assessment are dealt with as promptly as possible.
