There's a lot happening in July, including school holidays and Shine Week, so why not have a look at these:

Friday 9 July - 11am-1pm, Dyslexia Action Monthly Drop-in. Subject - simple activities to do over the summer holidays. To book your free place call 0115 9483 849

Saturday 10 July - Teversal Trust Activities Day, 10.30am-6pm at Teversal Grange Visitor Centre. Activities include bouncy castle, stalls (cakes, plants, books), art classes, martial arts and fire brigade displays, brass band concert, penalty shoot-out, kwik cricket and many more. Monday 12 to Friday 16 July - Shine Week. A chance for children and young people to help overcome negative stereotypes by showing off their talents and good deeds. For more information visit shineweek.co.uk

Saturday 17 July - The Hill Methodist Community Fun Day, 10am-1pm at Orchard Primary School, Kirkby-in-Ashfield. Activities include giant inflatables, painting, balloon modelling, dance&drama, worship group, pluck a duck, tombola and many more. Refreshments also available (free)

Sunday 18 July - Samba Workshop, Festival Hall, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, 10am-5pm. Open to all aged 11 and above (children aged 8 to 10 welcome if accomnpanied by an adult). An opportunity to learn new skills through the power of Latin American music. Cost £1, to book call 01623 457249
