The Waste Site Specific document will identify, where possible, suitable sites for future waste management to meet the requirements and objectives set out in the Waste Core Strategy. Broad locations, agreed through the Waste Core Strategy, will show the main areas where new waste sites are likely to be acceptable but it will be the site specific document that decides exactly which individual sites are the most suitable.
Current progress
Preparation of the Site Specific document is at an early stage. We have issued a ‘call for sites’ to the waste industry, landowners and developers as part of our general evidence gathering. All sites submitted will be considered before we publish an informal consultation on possible site options. The document will be prepared jointly with Nottingham City Council.
The current approved timetable and any subsequent changes to it are set out in the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme. We will also publish any updates here and on our facebook page.
