What's New

Tell us what you think of the changes we're making to how Nottinghamshire Children's Trust works

Nottinghamshire Children's Trust is changing the way it works, to make it more responsive to children, young people and families and to make its decision-making clearer for those working in children and young people's services.

The Children's Trust has reviewed its membership, making sure that it includes representatives of all organisations in Nottinghamshire that are involved in working with children, young people and families. It now includes new organisations that weren't formally part of it before, such as schools, Further Education colleges and Jobcentre Plus. The Children's Trust has also revised its sub-groups, reducing the number of groups reporting to the Children's Trust Board.

The Children's Trust has developed new governance arrangements and terms of reference to include the changes to how it works. These describe what the Children's Trust does and how the Children's Trust Board and its sub-groups work and make decisions.

We will be publishing the final version of these during April 2010 (the Apprenticeship, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 which updates the Children Act 2004 requirements for Children's Trusts requires us to do this).

If you have any comments on our final draft version please let us know by 9 April 2010 by emailing childrens.trust@nottscc.gov.uk.

The Children and Young People's Partnership has

now changed to Nottinghamshire Children's Trust.

We will continue to build on the success of existing joined up working.

Information on these webpages is being updated to reflect this change.

Nottinghamshire Children's Trust works to provide services for all children and young people in Nottinghamshire to improve their life chances and to help them maximise their potential.

In delivering this vision for Nottinghamshire we will provide services to help children and young people to:

Be Healthy - enjoying good physical, sexual and emotional health, through living a healthy lifestyle.

Stay Safe - protected from harm, neglect, bullying, serious accidental injury and crime.

Enjoy and Achieve - academically and socially, through play, leisure and recreation, as well as within school.

Make a Positive Contribution - to the community and society, developing self-confidence and being involved in decision making.

Achieve Economic Wellbeing - taking up employment, training or further education opportunities.

We are committed to improving what we do for children and young people by working together and delivering co-ordinated and integrated services.

Prevention and early intervention is of central importance to our partnership work and we will regularly review our activity to make this a reality in Nottinghamshire.
